Soil Stabilizers and Binders

ISS 2500 Ionic Soil Stabilizer

ISS 2500: ionic soil stabiliser

ISS 2500 is a clay soil stabilizer suitable for improving marginal or substandard materials for use in the construction of roads. ISS is suitable for use in both the construction of sealed pavement structures or for improvement in the performance of gravel wearing course layers. The addition of ISS to a suitable material improves compacted densities and bearing capacities and enables the constructed layer to maintain these increased densities under wet conditions.

If the stabilized layer is left un-surfaced these improved densities and consistent performance results in a reduction of material loss from the road surface retarding the formation of associated defects (potholes, corrugations etc) and reducing the overall required maintenance. The use of ISS does not affect normal gravel road maintenance procedures and provided the road is wet it can be bladed.

The use of ISS requires no specialised machinery and is supplied in concentrated liquid form using standard water bowser with spray bar to apply diluted solutions. The application of ISS requires the construction of the wearing course layer.

Sasbind

Sasbind: soil stabiliser

Sasbind is a uniquely formulated water based emulsion of modified acrylic polymers suitable for the binding and stabilisation of layers for use in construction of al types of roads. Sasbind provides a strong gluing and waterproofing action on soil particles and is suitable for application to a wide variety of soil types. The addition of Sasbind will also improve the wet weather performance of soils and gravel roads.

Sasbind is best applied as a mix-in treatment during construction but is also suitable for application to the surface of already constructed roads requiring dust palliatation or erosion protection.

The application of Sasbind does not require any specialised equipment for application and a standard water bowser is suitable for product application.

Dustex

Dustex: soil stabiliser and dust palliative

Dustex is a uniquely formulated lignosulphonate-based binder and gravel preserver. As natural polymers, lignosulphonates possess strong binding abilities making the product Dustex suitable for binding both fine and coarse particles. As a true dust palliative, Dustex is suitable for spray-on applications or applications to the surface of areas requiring short or medium term dust suppression.

Additionally being water soluble, the application of Dustex does not require any specialised equipment and a standard water bowser or other available spray equipment can be used. The application of Dustex is not sensitive to over or under spraying.

The use of Dustex will require periodic rejuvenations to maintain the required level of dust reduction. Rejuvenation periods are determined by prevailing site conditions, rainfall and customer requirements.

Dust Suppression

Dustex

Dustex: binder and dust palliative

Dustlock

Dustlock: dust palliative

Dust-lock is a water-based emulsion of modified acrylic polymers formulated for application to  un-trafficked areas or surfaces requiring medium to long-term dust suppression. The application of Dust-lock sprayed to the surface will result in a water resistant crust that is mostly unaffected by rainfall or climate minimising the need for reapplications.

The application of Dust-down does not require any specialised equipment for application.

WDC

WDC: dust palliative

WDC is a non-toxic, eco-friendly synthetic liquid that is applied to areas requiring medium to long-term dust suppression. WDC is also well suited for application to heavily trafficked areas, turning circles etc with high percentages of loose material present.

WDC is applied undiluted, will not wash out of the treated material or surface and is unaffected by climatic variations or rainfall.

The application of WDC does not require any specialised equipment for application.

HRDC

HRDC+: dust palliative

HRDC is a dust wetting additive consisting of a blend of special surfactants which increased the ability of water to wet and suppress road dust. HRDC has cumulative effect in suppressing dust. Each new application of treated water receives a boost from the residual material of the previous application.

The residual materials are also activated by rainfall and cause it to be absorbed into the road bed and dust rather than running off or creating puddles.

HRDC is highly concentrated and is added directly to any standard water bowser at a rate of 1-5000.

P100

P100: dust palliative

P100 is uniquely formulated anionic long chain organic polymer in emulsion suitable for application to slopes, berms and other areas requiring stabilisation and erosion control from loss of surface material through water and wind erosion.

P100 is ideal for application to areas with difficult access by means of high-pressure spray or irrigation systems.

P100 does not require any specialised equipment for application and can easily be incorporated into existing irrigation equipment.

Road Surfacing

LBS Asphalt

LBS is a formulated mixture of inert fillers, bitumen extenders and binder enhancers designed to be blended with selected aggregates and water based bituminous emulsion in the manufacture of asphalt for general road surfacing and repair. LBS is specifically designed to meet the design criteria of “continuously graded asphalt” as defined in TRH8, of the South African Technical Recommendations for Highways.

No heating is required during preparation or application of the LBS mix, LBS is self priming and no specialized equipment is required.

LBS Asphalt is ideally suited to labour intensive construction projects.
